In response to the growing demand from manufacturers in Missouri and across the nation, the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) has developed a master-degree program in manufacturing engineering that is accessible through the Internet. Many people working in industry will be able to benefit from this program by participating through distance education and flexible scheduling. This program is the only master-degree program of its kind in Missouri and is among the first in the nation. |

The new manufacturing interdisciplinary program will provide two degree options - a master of science degree and master of engineering degree. Both degree programs will be offered in the traditional format as well as through the Internet, so that students can access the lectures anywhere at any time. The master of science degree will be a research-oriented program, requiring a thesis, while the master of engineering degree will be a practice-oriented, non-thesis program. Both degree programs consist of a total of 30 hours, including 12 hours of core courses in the areas of Materials and Manufacturing Processes; Process, Assembly and Product Engineering; Manufacturing Competitiveness; and Manufacturing Systems Design.
